Looking to pick up one of his rookie cards but there are so many I’m not sure which one to get I was thinking about this (Patrick Mahomes II 2017 Leaf #13) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F123386252972 as there are many on eBay but there are so many variations I don’t want to buy just any one so I little advice would help
thank you Last edited by Kiddk1; 09-25-2018 at 04:26 AM. |

For me I would prefer a rc card in a chiefs uniform. I am definitely not an expert on modern football, but for non auto rc’s I believe prizm and optic are the most desirable main stream rc’s. I would like to buy a red optic numbered to 99 but that ship may have sailed for me. I also like elite since it is numbered. For autographed rc’s contenders and national treasures are the big ones and I like immaculate for a good mix of a premium product at a reasonable price. There isn’t a go to rc in football like there is in baseball with the bowman chrome auto, but contenders is as close as you will get with that. Others may be able to add more, or have a different opinion but since no one chimed in yet I figured I would.

Elite seems to be the first issue of each year where rookies are in their pro uniforms so normally that's the issue I go with. They also have a bunch of different #'d cards to chose from and my personal preference is the "aspirations" parallel. If you are talking about an autographed card, then I suggest going with an on-card auto instead of a sticker. There aren't many on-card issues. Contenders and Origins are two that I can think of. I don't know anything about relic/patch type cards. Here's my Mahomes:

It looks like his National Treasures card is pretty popular
