Default 1949 Lummis Peanut Butter Sealtest Rowe proof mat Philadephia rapid electrotype

Pretty strange looking card, from a notoriously tough set

Hi Ted

Although it says Rowe, I think the image is that of Robin Roberts.

Thank you Ted! A collector I showed this to said the photo was poasibly taken by Jim Rowe. At first, I was skeptical thinking they had spelled Preacher ROE incorrectly. However this is the image used for Schoolboy Rowe in the set. I'm not sure if it is an UER

Hi Ted:

It was great as always to talk with you at the Oaks show a few weeks back.

No question this is Schoolboy Rowe. See below.

While this is the same "photo" used in the Sealtest/Lummis sets this is NOT a proof for either of these sets.

See the discussion here:

http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...ghlight=Lummis

These Rapid Electrotype cards were issued in a few different years. See others including another pose of Rowe here:

Hi Fred
Always great talking with you. I hope to see you again in the Philly Show in December at Oaks.

This clear picture you posted is definitely Schoolboy Rowe.
