Thanks for everyone who has made the "Robert Williams Shoebox Find" auctions a rip roaring success!!! You know who you are!! Once again, I have opened a random box in my closet (after 20 years, I have stuff stored EVERYWHERE) and came across these gems!! Not one, but TWO vintage Boston Red Sox Photo Packs (with envelopes)!! I have tried to google these and learn about them, but my ADD kicks in, and I lose focus.
The earlier pictured ones are from the late 1940's. There are 24 cards present. Research leads me to believe there should have been 25, but Ted Williams is missing. The later ones pictured are from the early to mid 50's. There are 25 cards in that one, but still no Ted Williams. However, I am not so sure he was included in that set from what I have seen.
The pics are in really good shape. The envelopes are present, but pretty fragile, due to age. One is open at the bottom, and I have been pulling the photos in and out through the bottom. The other envelope is split a little bit on the side, making it easy for insertion/removal, but obviously means the envelope is not MINT shape.
From what I've seen, these are actually worth some good money, and I think someone on Net54 would love to have them. Let's start the bidding at $2 ($1 per pack) and shipping is $5. I know shipping is a little high, but due to the fragility of the envelopes, I would feel better shipping them in a box, as opposed to a bubble mailer. Unless the winning bidder tells me he/she is cool with a bubble mailer. Auction ends 3/8 10:00 est. 10:01 no good. PayPal F/F please. Any questions, please ask...
