Hi Everyone!
Just curious of your thoughts on PSA grading qualifiers. If you’re sending in cards for grading, would you rather the higher grade + the qualifier, or just the lower clean grade? Additionally, how do you think the majority of collectors view both options? Do people typically prefer a 6 + qualifier or a 4? I think this can totally depend on the type of qualifier and how prominent it is on the card, but just want to get your thoughts. Thanks! Jerry |

It will be interesting to see the responses to this, Personally, I buy the card more than the grade. I have a lot of very nice 6's, as I am patient and have my own priorities as to what I want in a card. I have seen an awful lot of '8 OC' cards that were not OC enough to prevent me from buying them if it had been a card I was after. I don't consciously ignore cards with qualifiers, but will note that I don't own a single one out of probably a couple hundred graded cards I own.

Interested in the responses here too! I used to not mind the qualifiers but now they bug the heck out of me.
What makes no sense at all is why these "qualifiers" aren't just part of the grading process when coming up with a single numerical grade like other aspects of a card's quality. Either go all the way and include subcategory grades that build up to your overall grade (like BVG) or don't give qualifiers at all. Been tempted to make up a flip for a PSA 1 that says: PSA 10 GEM MINT (MC, ST, OC, PD, OF, crease, rounded corners, paperloss, trimmed) I personally wish every grading company gave subcategories to their grades as I find these very helpful when examining a card to figure out why it got the grade it did. But I'm sure doing so takes more time and time is $$$$ in the grading game. jeff |

If you plan on selling to CMIZE and you he wants the card its worth it as he may make it worth your while.

To me the centering one makes some sense -- centering is part of the original card -- but stains and marks are wear the card has incurred and therefore should detract from the grade.

Most people prefer no qualifiers. However, I prefer them to getting a 1.5 on a card with writing on it.

I prefer no qualifiers. I also prefer centered cards over perfect corners so I may shy away from an 8 oc even if it would technically get a straight 6.

Most people who collect PSA graded cards primarily hate the qualifiers. Most, not all. I personally don't like them and would prefer a straight 7 over a 9Q

About the only qualifier I haven't steered clear of is the MK qualifier on the back of a tobacco card with a cool old stamp from the period.
