I've been hanging on to a few of the e90-3 color variations for a while now and figured I'd let a couple go to make room for other cards in my collection. I have a Payne and a very nice Dougherty in a 30 holder that I'm willing to part with. In the scan, my cards are on the left and what the cards SHOULD look like is on the right.
Essentially, these came into being because during the original print run, there were a couple sheets of cards that missed a color pass. I don't believe these cards to be "scrap" though as the cuts on all the color variations I've seen have been from a machine and not handcut. In other words, I think they were released into circulation in their current state. I've seen so few of these made available over the years. If you have an e90-3 color variation, you might very well have a unique card in your collection. I have discovered a second card for 1-2 of the variations, but some, like the Dougherty I've only seen 1 example turn up for. Pricing-wise, when I do run into these, they generally fall into the $600-800+ range. One, a Smith, went as high as $1200 on Ebay. The Dougherty cost me about $795 a couple years ago before the big t206 scrap/oddity boom really took off. I'll offer the Dougherty up for my cost of $795 and because of condition, I'll offer the Payne up for $425. In my opinion, the Payne is also the toughest card in the e90-3 set so you'd be crossing the hardest card off your list as well as picking up a card where there only might 2-3 in existance! As always, I'd prefer to trade these rather than sell. So if I can coax someone into parting with an e107 or a t204 or two that I need, that would be terrific! On the whole, these are terrific cards for e90-3 set enthusiasts and cards you might not see again for a long while. Thanks in advance!
