But don't forget the craquelure that for some reason the grading companies don't penalize for. I had a gorgeous one with no cracking and it got the same grade (6) as a comparable card with.

I personally like the set, as it has a definite "old west" vibe.

The big problem is that there are so many short-prints and rarities, that getting anywhere close to completing the set is, for many collectors, a pipe dream.

I've elected to collect the HOFers in the set, as well as a few other favorites.

T207 cards are awesome. I like the differnent backs and bios. Very classy set in my opinion

I like the set a lot but I vote probably not on the getting hot front. Could they increase in value or demand sure but I don't think they'll ever be the hottest set around.

I bought some because I wanted a t206 size Carey--along with a t206 size Wood, McKechnie, and Gowdy. But I need to save my pennies for a Fournier. For a colder set, it has some expensive rarities.

Depends on your definition of hot. Hot as in T206 hot? Nah. Hot as in will prices go back up? My guess is yes.

They are so much tougher than T206 and T205 and while rarity isn't the only barometer in determining collectability, it's important to remember that they were previously more valuable. I've been working on a set for the past year and can't tell you how many times I've heard from sellers that the rarer commons in particular used to command so much more. Prices have cooled a little but that happens with most sets. There's a lot of ups and downs in collecting.

I was drawn to them after working on T205 and T206 and I suspect others have taken that path. As more collectors work on those sets and look for an alternative, I think more will find T207. And the challenge of completing a set will be attractive to some as well.

I personally enjoy the cards. I don't think the aesthetics are real great but there are some poses that I really, really like. They're a win with me but that's more in a context of just enjoying the T205, T206, and T207 sets collectively. Each is distinctly different and I enjoy each one for different reasons.

I love one card from the set: Grover Hartley. That's it. Otherwise, it's a relatively ugly design in an era - as previously mentioned - with tons of excellent eye-appeal sets.

Steve, obviously the colored Red Cross reverse makes this card special. Only other one I remember is a Weaver, but not in as nice shape as yours. Can't be many for sure. Great card,

I love T207s. I feel like a lot of the criticism about the design is a bit unfair. Granted, as a whole the colors can get boring. And, there are a lot of ugly cards in the set.

However, there are also a number of really stunning cards in the set. I think a big reason they are not more popular is that the Johnson is a really ugly card and it looks nothing like him. Obviously the lack of star players plays a role as well.

Here are some of my favorite cards in the set from strictly an eye appeal sense. It's missing Speaker and a bunch of Broadleaf class poses just because I have never owned a lot of them.

Not until the card doctors start working their voodoo on them like they do with other collectibles. Why do I not usually not see all that many T207s in higher grades like I do T206, T205, etc. You'll know the set has "arrived" when only the more desirable cards start to show up in stunning grades (or great looking Authentics).

Thanks for the comments guys. Not shocked with all the negative views but I guess it comes down to taste. Oddly enough, for me, I'd rather have an Irving Lewis than a T206 Cobb even though no one knows who Lewis is.

The T207 set is unlikely to get 'hot', because of the lack of stars and the uniform, dark brown colors, but it will always have a decent amount of interest from diehard collectors. The artwork is inconsistent, but there are plenty of aesthetically pleasing examples, as is seen in some of the postings. One thing that I have always noted is that the Broadleaf grouping of tougher cards overall possess some of the nicest artwork.

I'm a big fan of T207's. It has been a really fun set to collect. Lots of interesting rarities and variations. Some cards are easy to find and some are super tough but you can still do a complete set of 200 if you work at it. The collectors who like T207 are a good group to buy from and trade with. We usually have duplicates from endless upgrades and different back combinations. Some of the rare backs are fun to collect, like T206, for me. The cards are a little thicker than many other pre-war cards and have a border that chips easily. Finding high-grade examples is always a challenge and they are quite rare if you have any in Ex-Mt or better condition.
