As a huge Yankees fan and novice collector, I am very curious to see what Yankee items everyone has in their collections. I loooooove looking at Yankees goodies, so show them off here!

How far back do you want to go? 1903? 1920s?

OK. Let's begin with the Yankees' first year, 1903. Here's a scorecard from Hilltop Park:

Yankee's hurler Monte Pearson was the 1st to ever pitch a no-hitter at historic Yankees Stadium on August 27, 1938.
Many others followed, including Bob Feller (his 2nd of 3 no-hitters), Allie Reynolds (his 2nd of 2 no-hitters in 1951), Don Larsen (perfect game), Dave Righetti, Jim Abbott, Doc Gooden, David Wells (perfect game), David Cone (perfect game) and most recently Roy Oswalt, Munro, Saarloos, Lidge, Dotel and Wagner in a 6 man combo no-hitter. Here is a toast to Monte Pearson the first to do it.... Last edited by Scott Garner; 06-16-2017 at 03:42 AM. |

I don't have much in the way of vintage Yankees memorabilia (just cards), but below are pictures of two of my favorite items--a game used ball from Game 6 of the 1952 World Series (Mantle hit his first World Series home run in this game) and a game used ball from Game 7 (Mantle hit his second World Series home run in this game).
![]() ![]() I think these came from a ball boy or something, and there is another from game 2 out there with the same handwriting. Unfortunately, I don't own it yet and couldn't afford it even if I did have a shot at it. So, for now, I'll enjoy these.

Love that Sax game used bat. I was a Sax fan when he played with the Yankees.

There is no way I can compete with what has been shown here (Incredible stuff!) but I do have these, which I cherish.
It's a pic of my Uncle Sam at the 1958 WS with Mickey Mantle and Dizzy Trout. My Uncle's friend, Norm, is the closest to Mick, and that is Dizzy Trout in the middle. I missed an opportunity (my own fault) to purchase a 1958 WS ticket stub sometime ago so if anyone currently has one for sale, please let me know. I think it would go great with this pic. Another, although it's a card and doesn't necessarily go with the theme of this thread, imo, anyways, it is worth showing.

Such truly amazing items in this thread. Brendan - game used Hal Chase mitt is so very cool; especially considering he was such a great fielder.
Mark S - i have never seen that pennant with 'Champions' going down the side. 1936? Is it particularly rare? For me, as a Mets fan I don't seek out Yankees stuff but here's one item that i own that I wanted to post. According to retrosheet, only 15,000 fans at Griffith Stadium saw Babe play his last game as a Yankee. End of such an era. Great thread. |

Mark S - i have never seen that pennant with 'Champions' going down the side. 1936? Is it particularly rare?QUOTE] Hi Peter... Sorry I missed your question from way back in this thread... Yes, the Yankees pennant is from 1936, and very rare. I've only seen one other like it, and that one was really beat-up. FWIW, here is a sideways look at the left side.... |
