No offense, but most vintage cards don't jump up and down i.e. "on the rise" by taking a small snapshot of five recent sales, and you are comparing apples and oranges depending on the tpg, quality of card in that holder, etc. I think you could try and build a case for certain rookie cards in certain grades i.e. '55 clemente with data over several years but saying the 62 mantle switch batter 5 is "on the rise" is probably not accurate, and if it is, not supported by the data you have posted.
In short, I think it's deceptive/ inaccurate advertising to make this claim on these cards Last edited by mintacular; 04-27-2017 at 07:34 PM. |

What? All these prices I am showing are the past 5 sales of the exact same card from the exact same company. The 64 and 65 cards have amazing centering. How is that being deceptive. VCP shows all 3 cards trending up. Does a up arrow on VCp not mean a card is trending?

Ok, I have not had a vcp subscription for some time, so if they have some stupid "on the rise" arrow like beckett, etc. than so be it. But let's keep this simple based on one of your listings, this one:
1962 Topps Mantle Switch Hitter PSA 5 This card has also been on the rise with the last 5 sales averaging $47.40 VCP. 4/21/17 eBay BIN danielaaronlee $50.00 3/8/17 eBay Best Offer chessdad3 $40.00 2/1/17 eBay probstein123 $56.01 1/21/17 eBay tripleplayvintagestore $41.00 1/18/17 eBay 4_sharp_corners $49.99 According to this data, in January this card sold for $49.99, and one recently sold in April for $50.00. (and of the three in between 2/3 sold for less). So based on your listing, this card is on the rise! One whole penny! Do you see what I am saying? Don't take this personally, I just don't like when misinformation intended or not is used to make a sale! In fact, if I were to use your logic/math I would have to sadly say this card is in a small decline ![]() Last edited by mintacular; 04-27-2017 at 07:45 PM. |

The VCP of this card is $42.00. Past 5 sales is $47.50 (rising 10%). Is that not a increase? If I made 10% on all my investments i'd be happy. |

Okay, you're right. Clearly the Mantle Switch Hitter in a 5 is "on the rise" based on your total flimsy snapshot over a year and anyone with a brain would know that the '62 mantle switch hitter is growing at a 10% clip based on your apples and oranges data (or misunderstanding of vcp #'s)

What's your problem man. Seems like you don't understand VCP, not me. You don't even have it anymore. So let's make it simple. A apple sells for 5 dollars for the past 3 years. Now over the past 6 months to a year it sells for 5.50. Is it not on the rise? What part am I not getting? |

Can you please calm down on bumping your stuff every 30 seconds? I get the whole trade up thing, but when I check the listings and all of your listing are on the top every day it gets a little old.
