I'm a big Cubs fan and have been enamored with the past year's team, for obvious reasons. However, I only really collect 1933 and 1934 Goudeys from the pre-war era.
If I were to combine my love of Cubs and baseball cards and start to look for Tinker/Evers/Chance cards to maybe display somewhere in the house or at my work desk, what cards do the Net54 experts say to look towards, all price ranges from $0.01 to $1 mln (dreaming isn't illegal, right?). Look at T205 Gold borders. Very nice cards from 1911.

I've always loved the T202 (not mine):

Might I suggest that for the final display you incorporate an original box score? They are easy and inexpensive to get, and add a nice touch.

You could always print out the poem and do something nice with the style and framing.

"big" fan means fat fingers.
I noticed immediately, and tried to change title and could not without duping post. So it lived. Edit: done. Thank you for the net54 UI lesson. Last edited by Tennis13; 03-30-2017 at 12:09 PM. |

Very nice. I am up to 134/154 of my cubs T205 fronts/ reverses. What backs are your cards David?

You could also buy original photos of them. You can get a lot of interesting other displayable collectibles of them toom.

I think the T205 grouping suggested by Ken is the way to go. The Evers, however, can to tough and expensive. Why not include a T205 of 3rd baseman Harry S. to complete the infield.. He undoubtedly participated in a few double plays himself.

Both the E91A and E91B American Caramel sets have all three players in their lineup (the fronts are the same for both issues for these players). Not too popular, but still (in my opinion) decent facial representations of Tinker and especially Evers. Chance is kinda iffy in my opinion.

I've always been partial to the T206 portraits:
