What are your thoughts on this ball? These are the best pictures I have right now. I am leaning towards authentic. Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I personally would not feel comfortable with that Koufax signature.

Scott is correct. I just realized it has a fake scoreboard COA. Sorry for wasting the boards time.

Here is a copy of the COA. The COA is clearly fake, as their name is not spelled correctly. I wish I had better pictures, but this is all that was given to me. The Drysdale looks OK, but the Koufax I am not sure about.

look, these are clearly authentic. The fake koufax/drysdales floating around are PATHETIC and easily identifiable. From what you can see, there is every indication they are real and ZERO indication they are not. Unless I see more, I stand by my assumptions.

The ball would have had to have been signed by Drysdale before his death in July 1993. If he had signed the baseball before Koufax, it is likely that he would have signed on the sweetspot, so in all likelihood Koufax would have already signed the ball by then. Below is a sample of Sandy's signature from 1993 for comparison (Koufax's signature has changed dramatically over the years). To my eye, the slant on the "Koufax" is all wrong on the baseball you are evaluating.

after review, the Drysdale is absolutely authentic on this ball and the koufax from what I cay see is also authentic. Strictly my opinion. I have collected both for years.
There is not one thing wrong with the Drysdale. If so fatso...lets hear it? We don't know when it was signed? I am familiar with the date of Drysdale's death as my Dodger seats were the row behind his at time. And the koufax is probably good from what I can see. It's certainly not a Shop at Home fake. |

I never commented on the Drysdale sig in my initial post, but I do agree it does appear to be real. I have less experience with "Big D", but did get his autograph a couple of times during the 1970's when he was part of the Angels broadcast team.
