Actually that’s a little known photo of the Babe doing the pole vault in his younger days . Had to give it up when he snapped too many poles with all those hot dogs and all.

I sent him a question mentioning that it looks like Leonard on the cover. His response:
I got magazine in my safety deposit box I check the magazine later see who it is you might be right I take item down for now until I know.

Well done and good that he’s taking it down. Maybe I’m wrong but I get the impression that many sellers ignore or bristle at such corrective info.

Which is irrelevant to this, or any, discussion not pertaining specifically to the English language itself.
He took down his item based on a polite note from somebody unknown to him, evidently because he wanted his description to be honest and truthful. Let's give the guy some credit, even though he might possibly have English listed as not his first language, similar to the ancestors of the vast majority of people who live in this country. For me that's as close as my grandmother who learned English on her arrival, and worded sentences similarly to the gentleman in question. Last edited by doug.goodman; 09-28-2023 at 06:44 PM. |

I looked at the seller's other items. I wonder how eBay allows someone with only 2 feedback to list an item for $600,000
