Was wondering why this Colgan's Chip is named "James" and not "Edward" when referenced in catalogs etc?

James LaFitte, was a Southern Leaguer for Macon in 1909 and New Orleans in 1910, so if you are referring to an erroneous catalog entry, that would be why... Same era, different name.

I can post a pic a bit later if need be, there is one on the bay now for reference. But the card/chip does say Rochester on it and the only Lafitte listed for the FL Rochester team is Edward. I wonder how the slabbed ones are referred to?

Could someone be so kind and post a scan of a graded E254 Lafitte?

PSA has it labeled James Lafitte as well. There are five (a 3, a 4, a 5, a 6, and an 8).
http://www.psacard.com/pop/baseball-...diamond/34993/ And here's an SGC with James on the label. ![]()

After a little more research it is my opinion that this Lafitte is in fact "Edward" Lafitte who pitched a no-no on 19 SEP 1914. Also, "James" Lafitte who as a catcher never made it past "A" ball. The image used on this E254 is very similar to the image depicting Ed Lafitte on Baseball Reference.com. Does anyone have another picture of Edward Lafitte?
