I collect T202 middle panels, and the following are some doubles I've accumulated. These black and white photos represent some of the great photography of the era--I believe at least some were shot by the famous Conlin--Cobb's slide into third being iconic.
And the text on the back is illustrative of the baseball jargon of that day. How many other cards in that era have text like these do? If you're a hall-of-fame collector on a tight budget, I believe that these are about the best you can do-- Cards range from Poor-VG+. I've given individual prices, but I'm only going to sell these as a group/or in customized groups totaling $100 or more, at which point I'll ship for free. a few sca Take all 35 cards for $300, delivered. Starter's set: 26 singles for $250, free S/H Best Nine H-o-F Cards featuring 10 hall-of-Famers: $104 delivered: EVERS Makes a Safe Slide, $12, COLLINS Easily Safe, $11, BENDER Takes a Close One, [2], $12, $8, WHEAT Strikes Out [2], $12, $10, Just Before the Battle [McGRAW shaking hands w. Trading, offering two for one: I still need two of these to complete my collection--Would love to trade. I'll trade two commons or a hall-of-famer for either one of these commons. For the record, the below have already been Sold on this thread: T201 Crawford/Cobb, Factory 649, cracked out of an SGC 40 slab [still have the flip], $ T202 Evers Makes a Safe Slide, Overall/Archer, SGC 20, [Note small "LH" written on back, middle panel], $27 + $3 S/H--SOLD-- A Great Batsman [Lajoie], Rucker/Bergen, SGC 30, $40,--SOLD-- Sold--T202: Ty Cobb Steals Third, Stovall/Austin, cracked out of an SGC 10 slab after being touched and damaged by Hurricane Sandy--[COLOR="red"]Now has been soaked-- Notes: The card has lost paper, obviously, on the Stovall panel; it's also lost some print right underneath Cobb's hand on the front; similarly, it's lost some text on Stovall's back. The paper is broken in the middle of Cobb's face [a pre-existing condition], but his stark profile still looks good. I tried to minimize the damage with the soaking, and I think I succeded. It may be a beater but it's still a whole card, and an iconic Cobb. T213 Type 2 Baker, SGC 10, $70 + $3 S/H,--SOLD-- Last edited by dougscats; 02-09-2019 at 12:56 PM. Reason: update |

Hi Doug, you don't have a price listed for the T213-2 Baker. Also, there are 3 Bakers in the set: Phila. Amer., Philadelphia Amer. and New York. Which one do you have?
Thanks, Rick

Thanks, Rick, for your interest and question.
I've posted a scan, and it is --Phila. Amer. I'll also give you my opinion on the card though it devalues it: It seems like there is some kind of thin "veneer" on the front of the card that slightly darkens it. The best evidence of this is in the upper-right hand border where the veneer ends and there is a whiter contrast. On the back, there are stains of some gluey-looking substance, which might well be the veneer on the front. Still, PSA gave it a 1, and it's not a bad-looking 1. So, price of the card? I don't know the T 213 market at all, and I don't know if/how much my stated opinion would influence the price. I'll check out Ebay's "completed listings," but I'd ask you, if you don't mind, what you think would be a fair asking price for it. Thanks. Doug |

Thanks, Rick, for your input,
and Joe for the sale. Scans and prices added. And here is a pitch for the T 202 middle-panels-- they're great!--Some all-time great photography--I believe at least some of the photos were done by the famous Conlin--Cobb's slide into third being the most iconic. And the text is illustrative of the best sports-writing of that day. If you're a hall-of-fame collector on a tight budget, I believe that these are about the best you can do-- Trading: I still need three of these to complete my collection--Would love to trade for these-- Here are four for example: Last edited by dougscats; 02-02-2016 at 09:02 AM. |

Any suggestions on cracking cases for graded cards?
I usually would rather not take up the space for low grade cards. Thanks Ed |

Others, I usually use pliers or channel locks to clip off a corner far away for the card then pry with a screwdriver. |
