Hope I am posting in the proper section with this Leon--my apologies if I have erred.
Picked up this old International League board game recently, and thought I would share some pictures. Have never seen this game before. Manufactured in Montreal by Rejean Maisonneuve, and a quick Google search indicates that it is likely from the '40s or earlier (the Jersey City Giants ceased operations in 1946). Looks complete to me, and it is in very nice condition (stain on the box lid nothwithstanding). Had to pony up for it, so maybe some with more knowledge than myself can provide an assessment of its value. Thank. ![]() 008.jpg 012.jpg 015.jpg 017.jpg 013.jpg |

That's a neat game and I've never seen one like it. It could be from later than 1946 - I collect Jersey City baseball and the Giants were around through the 1950 season. Sometimes the name was shortened to the "Jersey Giants" but they were there from 1937 through 1950. The Havana Sugar Kings moved there for 1960-1961 after Castro took over and were called the Jersey City Jerseys.

A marvellous thing there, boysblue -- in close to thirty years collecting and researching tabletop baseball games,
we've never run across hide nor hair of that game from any source. It's definitely a 1946 product, give or take no more than a year -- the hypothetical battery listed on the instruction sheet features "Podjhanny" and Lollar, undoubtedly referring to Johnny Podgajny and Sherm Lollar, teammates at Baltimore in 1945 and '46. Pardon a correction, but Jersey City were in business through 1950 -- they were relocated to Ottawa in 1951. Springfield replaced Newark in 1950. The eight teams included in the game constituted the IL from 1938 through 1949. Tough to estimate a price, but we have seen at least one other IL-centric boardgame from the same era, very comparable in fact to yours in composition and condition -- "Baseball Magnates" by the Bill Sims Syndicate. The only example of that game we've seen sell went for about $75. several years ago on eBay.
