I am now 27 signed 1933 Goudeys away from completing the set. I completed two trades in the last week that knocked 7 off my want list. I am making trades and purchases that are VERY generous. My want list is below, and scans of all my duplicates can be found here: http://www.1933goudey.com/for-trade.html
I will also pay generous finder's fees for anyone who can point me in a direction that leads to an acquisition. Want list: 26 Bill Cissell (d. 49) 32 Bud Clancy (d. 68) 38 Fred Brickell (d. 61) 54 Ray Kremer (d. 65) 57 Earl Clark (d. 38) 66 George Grantham (d. 54) 70 Pete Scott (d. 53) 78 Jack Quinn (d. 46) 83 Pete Jablonowski (d. 74) 85 Heine Sand (d. 58) 86 Phil Todt (d. 73) 88 Russell Rollings (d. 64) 90 Jess Petty (d. 71) 94 Bill Walker (d. 66) 105 Bernie Friberg (d. 58) 113 Cliff Heathcote (d. 39) 118 Val Picinich (d. 42) 122 Alvin Crowder (d. 72) 136 Flint Rhem (d. 69) 149 Babe Ruth (d. 48) 160 Lou Gehrig (d. 41) 170 Harry McCurdy (d. 72) 172 Billy Hargrave (d. 42) 173 Roscoe Holm (d. 50) 175 Dan Howley (d. 44) 201 Ernie Orsatti (d. 68) 209 Adolph Luque (d. 57) |

Thank you to everyone for the kind words. Glad to see others enjoying the scans. I feel comfortable saying that this is by far the most complete signed 1933 Goudey set in existence. I purchased Sean Brennan's collection a few months ago, and his collection by itself was almost certainly the most complete signed set out there. Between the cards I got from him and the HOFers that I already had, it put me a lot closer to completion that I ever thought possible. I was also able to purchase around 70 signed 33 Goudeys from the collection of the Detroit Tigers ballboy in 1934. The cards were found in a cigar box in an attic of the home he lived in as a boy. That collection included pristine examples of several tough American league players as well as almost all of the Chicago Cubs, as they played the Tigers in the World Series that year. It's been an exciting journey that's taken thousands of hours and resulted in me traveling all over the country. Considering the tough players I still need, I'm guessing I will be continuing this obsession for many years to come.
