I'm not a big program collector and would like to find out the value of a program I have. The program is from a July game in 1966 between the Dodgers and Mets. Sandy Koufax pitched and won his 16th game of the season striking out 11. Sandy also had a base hit. I appreciate any feedback.

I collect Koufax scored programs.
I currently have 82 wins, 40 losses, 6 saves and 61 no decisions, plus all 8 of his World Series appearances. Yours is a game that I need. I would like to either buy it from you, or possibly trade you another program. I have lots of scored and unscored from all teams from many years. Please email me at doug.goodman@earthlink.net Thank you, Doug PS - I also have other things to trade, let me know what your interests are. Last edited by doug.goodman; 05-09-2016 at 11:26 PM. |

The fact that Koufax actually got a hit may add value......he was a miserable hitter. His lifetime batting average was .097

Nolan hit 2 and Sandy hit 2... Without looking this one up, can anyone guess what pitcher hit the most career HR's? Hint: He once pitched a no-hitter game as well. Last edited by Scott Garner; 05-11-2016 at 04:37 AM. |

Don Drysdale, Bob Gibson or that Hampton guy for the Mets usually pop to mind but I think it was a guy who pitched in the 40's whose name escapes me right now (without looking it up)

I think it's either Wes Farrell or Warren Spahn. Both were good hitters.

Wes Ferrell is correct! 38 career dingers as a pitcher. Nice!

As a side note, Jim Tobin of the Boston Braves is the only modern day pitcher to hit 3 home runs in a single game (1942).

Jim Tobin was quite an excellent hitter in his own right. He actually homered multiple times in several game in his career. Rick Wise also did this as well. In 1971, he homered twice in the same game at least two times that I am aware of... |

Great program and fun to look at but my dad would've gotten on me for scoring like that. I'm assuming FO is fly out and GO ground out but he was strict about 4-3 and F-7. Funny how that sticks with you viewing another style. Interesting to see Drysdale lagging at 6-11 and 4.18 at the midway point. I remember he was 13-16 at least one year, maybe two, and this must be then.

Sandy Koufax was actually 27-9 with a league leading 1.73 ERA in 1966, his final year in baseball. Not bad...
