			Hi-

I recently acquired the Swift's Premium Franks coupon scanned below and I had a few questions regarding it. Was this item on the hot dog package itself? It is made of heavy paper/thin cardboard. Did the hot dogs come in boxes as opposed to today's type of packaging? Does anyone have a label (the text on the coupon states that two labels are needed along with 25 cents to buy the whole game).? Does anyone have a complete package (hopefully minus the hot dogs)? Please feel free to show your Swift's players. Thanks, Alan |

Did a quick search on the net and found this ad attributed to 1948, so it looks like hot dogs have been in the current type of packaging for quite a while. Love the baseball set, by the way - I think I have one sheet of 6 and a single or two somewhere - very unique set!

Marty, back in the 1950's, many meat companies (e.g., Briggs, Esskay, etc.) packaged their hot dogs in a waxy box, with baseball cards being printed on one side of the box.
