2015 Leaf Stan Musial Autograph Cards

I have been seeing several 2015 Leaf Heroes of Baseball and 1951 Batting Champ cards offered on ebay and these cards feature authentic Musial autographs according to the back. My question is how did they get authentic autographs from a fellow who passed away before the cards were made? Did they just cut our strips from previously autographed items and paste them on the cards?
Thinking of buying one of these but puzzled by how they did it.

I don't know the answer to your question but in addition to signing anything for fans he met, Musial had a memorabilia company that churned out items including autographs in volume. Considering his highest salary was around $ 100,000 he may have made more on memorabilia than from his playing career. His company/estate may have had a bunch of stuff in "inventory" when he died

Call him Silver Stan. These shiny stickers are just under two inches wide and individually signed by Hall of Fame outfielder Stan Musial in 8-9/10 blue Sharpie. They are affixed to six sheets with 30 stickers on a sheet and are perfect to put on items that you want signed by Stan but never had a chance to make that happen. They had him signing stickers on his death bed that's why some many look like chicken scratch

I am of the belief that Stan hit the Bob Feller plateau and it seems likely more difficult to find a decent unsigned item than a signed one.
