Link to an article about some cards found in one of Detroit's abandoned buildings - just stuff from '80's and '90's but it would still be fun to find something like this. Frank Thomas NNOF anyone ![]()

There was some discussion about this on pre war and over on CU. Stuff may have been abandoned because clean up cost was likely to exceed value

Estimated scrap paper value - $20K? In what bizarro-world would that be? Back in the 80's, after reading about some abandoned building finds in the collectibles press, a cousin of mine got the idea of doing research in public libraries to identify old buildings that once housed large candy and gum supply companies in decades past. I think he just used old Polk directories to look for them. He found a few in nearby towns and drove around trying to see if he could gain access and maybe do some searching, but was apparently unsuccessful. But, he was a rather closemouthed guy, so I still wonder if he ever did find anything of value.
