Behind 49-30 in the bottom of the ninth Troy comes up 16 runs short. Only 14 total runners left on base. Fortunately there was a double play or the score could have been higher. On average in 1871 teams scored just over 10 runs/game teams made about 8 errors/game more unearned than earned runs resulted in a league ERA of just over 4 in several games this year the winning team topped 20 runs, but this game with 82 runs total was a true outlier. Of course the game was played without gloves back then, which would have accounted for some of the stats that filled up that sheet. But yes, those total runs were truly an outlier.
