Default 1940 Hughes Frozen Confections Sacrament Solons

Hi, I'm brand new to the forum and joined because I recently came across some cards that I thought I had lost long ago. I'm not really a collector but I thought I was when I was a kid and my Great Uncle tossed me 5 of these cards.

In doing some research on them, they've got a pretty cool history and full sets have apparently gone for quite a lot at auction.

I'm probably not really looking to keep them but would like to treat them right and thus my questions...
  • What's the best way to do what I can to preserve them without spending a ton of money?
  • Are they worth getting "appraised" or "graded"?

Thanks a lot!
