Default "Oddball/Error" price determination???

How are prices on "oddball/error" items determined??? I'm specifically talking about things like "ghost images", "double strikes", etc.
Basically anything that is more or less a large printing type error, not simply a miscut card, or a small stray printing mark or something.
Is an item like this generally more or less valuable then the same card without the error???

For older cards almost always worth more for a major error. It's hard to say exactly. Generally the bigger the error, and the more striking or obscure it is, the more valuable. (T206s are in a league of their own)

Simply stated, the market determines the price. Those that chase "the freaks" are fanatical about it.

Thanks. That's sort of what I thought. I've always found it sort of interesting that graded cards with errors (print marks/miscut) seem to have downgraded value, but "ghost prints", "double strikes", "wrong backs" seem to be more valuable...IDK...

Does anyone know if and/or how PSA or SCG would grade a "ghost" or "double strike" card??? Would they grade at the lowest possible grade, or maybe put the words "printing error" or whatever on the flip???

Do you have a particular card in mind? If you post a scan I am sure you will get quite a bit of advice.
