Ok, so please do not laugh, because I am still learning the in's and out's of pre war stuff.
So I was watching You Tube videos of T Cards and saw on one video featuring backs that had info on "overprints". This is something I had never known about. So I went down to the card room, looked at my T-Cards and I am so happy to announce that I DO have a factory #649 Overprint!!!!! I am so happy!!!! So how rare are they, and how much % more valuable are they then non overprints? Thanks guys! ![]() |

In 1995 George Davis was cited by Bill James as the "best player not in the Hall of Fame." George Davis was ultimately voted into the Hall by the Veteran's committee in 1998. And don't forget that in 1995 the card could have been purchased for a couple of bucks. K-Nole, I would say you are one lucky guy.

Nicely said, Frank!
K-Nole, your example is also a great looking card with decent centering, and excellent registration + color. |

A "find" is a "find," and "learning" is "learning."
I like the overprints. When I see one, I visualize the day some poor shop manager came into the boss's office, and said: "Hey, boss, I've got 100,000 printed cards with the old factory number on them, what should I do?" And the boss replied: "Put a #$*&^ line through it, and get back to *@&$% work !!!" Happy collecting, Scott |

Congratulations on the 649 OP! I actually love the 649 and 42 Overprints and am trying to collect HOFers with them. And quite frankly, they are far more rare than common Sweet Cap or Piedmont backs. They may not sell for any (or much) more (although I have paid more for them since I collect them), but you see countless dozens, perhaps fifty to a hundred, without the OP before you find the OP. So I think you got a great find and that's a really nice card. Are you trading? Or is this the start of your Overprint collection? ;-)

Congrats on your pickup. I've always liked the overprints and to have one on a nice HOFer is pretty cool.
