Default What pricing website is best?

Just hoping you guys can help me a bit. I want to access/register for a price guide website such as VCP or others. I am hoping you can tell what is the best one for my money. Maybe each of them have their strengths so I am open to registering for more than one. I collect both prewar and post war vintage, nothing past 1960. Thanks,
Brad in Utah

I think the cost of VCP is worth it for me, since I enjoy getting the pictures which come along with the prices, to let me judge whether the card may have been strong or weak for the grade. VCP is pricey but I think the value is there.....

I use both, VCP has more sets available which is a major plus depending on what you're collecting.

I use VCP and find it very useful. For the time period you collect I think VCP is the best choice.

Cardtarget uses photos as well and is free (you don't even need to be logged in to use it). VCP, on the other hand, does have more sets so if you can't get the info you want I would use VCP. Most, not all, the sets I need are on Cardtarget and I figure I can just use my own research on other cards that aren't making the VCP monthly cost not worth it to me.

Thanks so much for your input. I am going to think this through for a day or two. Does card target have a personalized collection tracking system, and notifications of new items like VCP?

It does "inventory" that lets you track your collection. As far as notifications I believe the best place for that is bid-brain.com. Cardtarget may have a tracker/notification system but I found bid-brain meets the needs of hitting most auction houses.

Cardtarget has changed ownership and they plan to change things so I don't know how long it will be free, but as of now it is so there is nothing lost by trying it, but again it won't currently hit every need of every collector.

Default CardTarget

Hey guys, I just wanted to introduce myself - I am the new owner of the Cardtarget site. I appreciate everyone's feedback and input. I agree that VCP has a wider range of sets and sports, as well as some other useful features. Rob does great work and I use it all the time myself.

On the other hand, Cardtarget is free! We are currently working hard to update the site and expand the features and available sets and information - feel free to send me feedback and I will let the board know when we have something new to show.

Bob
