I have never owned any of the Venezuelan cards and I have the opportunity to buy/trade for this one. I also usually avoid Graded cards so any help on value would be much appreciated.
It is a PSA3(mc) that looks nice. For some reason I can not upload the picture. Will try to add it again later. |

Nice card Ben....add it to your collection if the price is right.
Despite the fact that the upper right edge pin appears burst, and there is some frosting on the upper side edges(could just be glare though), this several hundred dollar card is not as likely to be a candidate for tampering as other several thousand dollar cards are. |

It is a friends card that he got graded so there is no chance of tampering. He is selling because he upgraded to a nicer one. I do not have a Joe DiMaggio or Venezuelan card in my collection and figured this card would kill 2 birds with one stone.
Any idea of value? Last edited by bnorth; 02-18-2014 at 07:01 PM. |

I did not think that a card of this level would be a candidate for tampering.
On the list below, the PSA 1 with low eye appeal sold for $150, the PSA 4 MC did not sell at $499, and the PSA 5 MC sold for $750(seems high compared to the PSA 4's listed price). http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...mplete=1&rt=nc Strictly IMO, based on this PSA 3 MC card having nice eye appeal, I would think that $250 would be a good starting point. |

Ben,
Here is another more recent sale of a similar conditioned card: http://sep12.hugginsandscott.com/cgi...l?itemid=49119 |

Hard to put a value on it. If you look at VCP and value it as a PSA 1 (there are no sales of the card with a qualifier), I would have to think it is close to the PSA 1 that sold for $200. There was a recorded sale for one that sold for only $80, but that one really looked like s**t!! The one that sold for $200 looked decent. The PSA 3 (MC) looks decent.

I would price it out like a 2, the issue is plagued with miscuts and I don't think the usual two grade reduction for MC would apply.

I wonder if there is a gigantic stash of these somewhere in Venezuela.

I know it has been 2 months since I asked about this card. I finally bought it today. Can't wait to get it in hand.

I rescued Joe out of that ugly PSA slab.
Thanks to a fellow board member for letting me piggy back on his order and SGC running the Net54 special at the National Joe DiMaggio is now back in a beautiful SGC slab. |
