Because I'm a Cleveland collector I bought Lot No. 114 in Bagger's spring auction (when I try to copy and past a link to the item, it takes me to the home page). Here's the description from Bagger's website:
Lot # 114 - (30+) Circa 1940s/50s Bob Feller Baseball Game Cards - NEVER ISSUED This auction is for the original prototype cards and box design for a set of Bob Feller Game cards that were never issued. Purchased directly from the family of the card designer, the group lot includes a complete set of 23 cards in binder, extra duplicate cards and two different box designs. The set was not produced due to a financial disagreement. The cards are in EX/MT or better condition and all have a picture of Bob winding up on the back. Actually, included in this lot were two sets of 21 different game cards (not 23 as the description states), plus three extra cards. Some of the cards are pictured below (first three front and backs are my scans; rest of the cards of scans from Bagger's). The image of Feller on the back of each is pretty iconic, I think, and in nearly 40 years of collecting Cleveland memorabilia, I never had run across these cards. I am keeping 21 different cards for my collection and selling the rest. The price of 1-4 single cards is $x each delivered within the United States. Price for five or more cards in one purchase is $x each. (0 still available) Condition of the cards is excellent to mint. Please note that what appears to be discoloration on the side with Feller's picture actually is color printing from the other side of the card. The cards measure about 2.5 by 3.75 inches. I thought these looked very interesting in the auction, and after I got them in hand think they're a pretty nice, affordable type card issued during Feller's playing days. Plus, the "never issued" factor makes them intriguing. PayPal is fine. No need to "gift" your payment. (Check, cash, money order also OK). A commitment to buy takes precedence over an ongoing negotiation. ![]() Feel free to email any questions.
