Yes.
Just make sure it is not a copy of the original check. Last edited by JT; 02-14-2014 at 06:25 PM. |

Because there are high quality copies out there that look very authentic in a frame.

The above information is correct !
I can remember a specific incident that happened at a card show years ago. Maybe some of you were there. But what happened is someone walked into the show with six or seven beautifully framed Babe Ruth checks. Triple matted , UV glass the whole enchilada ! his price was "reasonable" ...and man ! were dealers and collectors fighting over those !!! He said they were priced right for quick sale , cash only and anyone that tried to inspect them too closely or asked too many questions he was on to the next potential buyer...and there were PLENTY !!! He sold them all in about 15 minutes and was gone. When finally the excitement wore off someone opened one and guess what ??? color copies all ____________________________ jim@stinsonsports.com Sign up for my e-mail updates recent autograph acquisitions e-mailed weekly http://stinsonsports.com/newsletter/ |

Is it usually pretty easy to tell once the check is in hand?

Shelly, I disagree, depends on the seller, IMO. If Richard or Jim had one framed, I would buy it.

Your check is in the mail ![]() Seriously though, I never buy framed items and always instruct potential sellers to remove the item, from a frame, before sending it to me. Though between autographs and my own photography I have framed items on all my walls ![]()

When looking at a replica check in person that is unframed, is it easy to tell the difference between a real and a fake?
I see this Cobb on eBay that's listed as a replica, and it seems like it would be difficult to know that it's not a real check. But perhaps once in hand it becomes obvious. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TY-COBB-TWO-...item3cdcaaee93 |

I believe the check shown on the ebay auction is the original and the buyer will get a copy of that check. I've never seen a copy of a check that had the actual tear perforations along the edges.
