Early Jim Thorpe Football Checklist
I have always wanted to obtain a "verifiable" period piece of Jim Thorpe on a football-themed card or postcard (something that was distributed and thereby could be obtained albeit tough). Not baseball, street clothes, Indian headress, Olympics all very collectible, but not in Jim Thorpe's favorite sport FOOTBALL. I've have seen a few composites and photos that are nice but difficult to date. Here is what I have come up with so far.
Here are some images to start the conversation.....must be pre-1933 Sport Kings. 1. 1908 Real Photo postcard Carlisle Indians team Starters (14 players) - Last sold in 2009 - Haven't seen the back 2. 1908 Real Photo postcard Carlisle Indians team Full Squad (48 players) - Sold in 2014 Super Bowl Auction 3. 1923 Oorang Indians - Haven't seen the back, maybe someone will post it 4. ????
