Default A Look At Some Awesome Mid 1920's Base Ball Stuff!

A friend of mine's great uncle pitched for the Oklahoma City Indians in 1926. She gave me a look at a couple of very cool items of his. A catchers mitt and an official league ball signed by the 1927 Denver Bears. I would like to make her an offer on these items and request any input as to how to value this minor league stuff. What do you think each piece is worth?

Its hard to know without the rest of the ball being visible but I would "estimate" the items are worth in the $700-$1000 range for both with the ball being the more valuable item. Minor League Baseballs are hit or miss but I have never seen a ball with a Dale Gear Facsimile signature before!

Thank you for the feedback. I was somewhat excited just to get a free look. I was wondering what the complete name of President was as last name looked like it could have been Gean or Jean or something other than ending with an r? Thanks for clearing that up too!

Mark - Really nice ball & mitt! I believe that Dale Gear was a player/manager for Shreveport for a few years :

Thanks everyone for their feedback. Interesting to know he played and also to see his image. If I negotiate a deal for base ball, I may have to find a Gear image to showcase with it. I've made an offer and hoping to hear something soon.

FYI, there is a weird subsection of people who believe Dale Gear was a woman, Google it!

Acquired the 1927 Western League ball today! It is an awesome piece of minor league base ball history to add to my collection!
