Default WOW! Dan Mckee Eating Crow! Memory Lane

A few months back I trashed Memory Lane stating I would never leave a ceiling bid again with them while praising Goldin Auctions who were honest as could be.

Well, I just received a birthday card in the mail with $100 towards any live auction!

Very nice!

Though they have my birthday wrong January 1st when it is really April 2nd.

I think this is a very nice gesture!

Thank you Memory Lane!

Note to Masto and Allen get those gift cards in the mail this may be your way out.

John

P.S. McKee I'm going to call you and bust your chops on this one this is a classic.

Sounds like a good investment for ML.

Agree Orlando should have dropped a $100 gift card to Danny long ago perhaps he would have forgotten about the whole minor loss of his Magie card.

Who knew it was this easy.

On a related note, I left "up to" bids and went to sleep in the last ML auction and won both lots without either being raised after I left. They could have gone up a couple of notches.

$100 for Dan's dignity eh, maybe try consigning it next time. I hear Mastro gets top bids.

Dan--should this be interpreted as a repayment of amounts that you were shilled before, or as a bribe to stop whining?

I interpret it as an oversight during the review of the mailing list.

At least three posts in this thread should end up in the top 20 for the entire year, with John's at #1.

Thanks for the laughs (tearful laughs)

All I got from REA for my birthday was some Arby's coupons that I'm pretty sure were left over from Dwyer's lunch break.....

Just waiting to see which auction house jumps at the chance to screw Dan over and then "thank" him with a $100 for all the extra advertising.

Joshua

PS Hell did not freeze over, just the northeast.

Can we come back to this Magie card? It sounds like an interesting story.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else here ever gotten $100 for their birthday from Memory Lane?

No way that Birthday VIP ticket should have graded a PSA 10. Clearly hand cut and should have never received more than an Auth-Altered!

Does that buy me anything with PSA??

Yes, you will get preferential treatment meaning your 10 day submission will be graded on a 20 day turnaround instead of the usual 30 days. So you got that going for you.

Well, I didn't get one of these coupons, but when I had an issue with them last summer, they sent me a beanbag baseball paperweight. It came in a special sack.

But I definitely appreciated their efforts to fix the problem, and the gift. With all the auction house issues, any efforts to move in the right direction is a good thing for all of us.
