Default Post your favorite T205

Haven't seen a T205 thread in awhile. Post your favorite gold bordered beauty that you own. My favorite design of all time, when you get a nice one, the borders sparkle "like new money" as they say here in the South.

Murphy PSA2 (back paper loss, probably was in a scrapbook) Not valuable at all, but crisp as heck, plus he's smiling.

My favorite...great colors, love the Brooklyn starting on the jersey his signature is nice and does not take up the entire bottom half like some other NL players.

Can't decide between a few. Really like the design and action poses on the Minor Leaguers. And this Kirb White is a nice crisp card.

Great idea for a thread, Eric, and I like your choice. The color combo on the A's cards looks really nice within the T205 set. The blue background and the gold borders just enhance the eye appeal.

Other than Mr. Cobb's card, my favorite T205 is Home Run Baker's.

Just realized something after looking at all the Cobb cards posted... awhile back, someone posted a comment (more of a criticism) about the Cobb card having no neck. For some reason it just clicked that what we're likely seeing is the artist's attempt to make it look like Cobb has his collar pulled all the way up, similar to what we see on the T206 Cobb bat off card.

Such a classic card, the T205 Cobb...

I forgot about the Zach Wheat card (nice copies, guys). What a cool, stoic pose.

Pete, not that I'm aware of I haven't seen it before on other stamps on period cards. Perhaps someone here knows....

I should however make up a good story about the stamp maybe being connected to Wagner if I ever sell the card....we could let the market decide.

John, not sure if you are aware or not but that fancy little back stamp is actually VERY significant. It was Jefferson Burdick's personal stamp and is found on many of the cards that were once part of his collection (likely these were then traded to hobby friends as they were not part of his Metropolitan Museum donation.) Here is a T28 Aeroplane Series that has his personal stamps on back that I own that has the same stamp you have along with his other "Jeff B" stamp (mine was picked up in a large fresh to the hobby T-collection a few years back from a former early hobbiest)...

Default Favorite T205

Here's another interesting Eddie Collins.

The offset back tells us that another Eddie Collins was the adjacent card....therefore, this Collins was Double-Printed.

Default Signed T205 Blackburne

My favorite T205, and a rare instance of a T205 image outclassing the T206 image of the same subject. (I even prefer this to my signed T206 Blackburne!)

Rhett very very cool! I didn't know that I have some other Burdick stamps on some non-sports cards but all are of the "Jeff B" type I always assumed that was his only stamp. Thanks so much for the insight cool stuff!

Cy has always been a favorite of mine. However, after looking at all these beautiful T205s, I have concluded I like the National League design better than the American League design. Great cards everyone.

I haven't logged in from a computer in a long time, where I have my scans...
I have been waiting to add a couple of mine favorites and bump this thread from page 2.
