![]() Any Joe Wood experts out there? His signature is usually pretty simple enough to tell, but is it just me or is this a horrible Joe Wood signature?http://sports.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...003&domain=all Also, on a related note, has anybody ever seen a Joe Wood signature where he signed it "Smoky/Smokey Joe Wood"? If you do, any sample pics would be much appreciated. I've only come across one where I've seen him add "Smoky". |

I just sold signed check in the auto BST. I think the ball is ok, just a bit of an older late in life signature. the man lived to be VERY old

Not sure on the baseball but I'll take any opportunity to show my Joe. One of my favorite pieces:

That's a nice piece, Packs. That's also the Joe Wood signature I'm used to seeing. That ball pic I posted is questionable.

Yes, Joe lived well into his 90s (95 to be exact). I used to send him SASE's back in the early '80s and he always replied very quickly until around 1984-85 when he couldn't sign any longer and just sent back stamped signatures.
