The original poster has been suspended pending he and I talking. I called the number he registered with and both the first and last name were completely different. For that reason alone he is suspended. Please be careful in these BST areas.
Edited to add, so I spoke with our new member. I asked about the phone number issue. He said, in a very southern voice that he didn't know how "loose" we are with the phone numbers. He said it's his sisters but actually it was a guy that was on the voicemail. I talked to him for maybe 10 minutes, and while when I got off the phone I was ok, after a few minutes of consideration I don't like his answer to my question. The rest of the conversation didn't give me a warm fuzzy either. I will let our newest member know that he can participate in the general forums and after we all get to know each other a little, he can go to the BST. We shall see....

With some new information I am moving this thread to the front page too so folks can see what more is going on. The info this morning has inclined me to go ahead and fully ban this guy......If he contacts me and can prove he is legit (he won't and can't) he can come back. Caveat Emptor ....

Leon,
Is there some kind of way to prohibit new users from using the B/S/T for a certain amount of time? Say like a 90 day trial period? Edited to add: Another AOL email address. Imagine that ![]() Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying those with AOL accounts are scammers. I am saying that very, very few people use AOL anymore and it's just odd that all these scams seem to be perpetrated by someone with an AOL account, leading me to believe that it's all the same individual. There might be but as I explained to another member this morning, with more rules comes more enforcement. I think the way everyone acts today, and is on the lookout, it's working pretty well right now (knock on wood). I am still unaware of almost any fraud that has been got away with on our board. If everyone keeps being diligent I don't think we need more rules (as of now)...Please keep bringing stuff to my attention and it will be acted on quickly. WE all want the same thing, a safe place to conduct our hobby....

And since I firmly believe this guy is a scammer, here (below) is some of our email correspondence from last night...And to reiterate, I got no warm fuzzy about this guy being legit when we spoke on the phone. I made my living for 21 yrs, on the phone and in sales, so have an ok intuition most times....
That is my sister's phone. My home number is 812-913-4700 please call anytime. -----Original Message----- From: Leon Luckey To: 'crazy4vintage @ Net54baseball.com Forums' Sent: Sun, Oct 20, 2013 9:07 pm Subject: RE: Net54baseball.com Forums Contact Us Form - Ban I called the phone number you had on file and it was a voice mail of someone completely different. 812 area code is from Indiana - same state as scammer Steven Dujardin.
Edited to add: I suppose it could have been his sister's house. I know his wife is in on his scams, so maybe his sister is too? Maybe it's a family business ![]() Last edited by vintagetoppsguy; 10-21-2013 at 09:51 AM. |

I can't access your first link (my company is blocking their website for some reason), but I was able to access the second link. That picture looks like what I was describing above. It looks like a picture cut out and placed on top of a newspaper (or Photoshopped somewhow). Look at the funky edges around the action figure. He's probably using the newspaper (with date showing) to give buyers peace of mind (like he owns it and has it in hand).

Yeah, that's what he's doing - Photoshopping the pictures to a different background for 2 reasons:
1.) Makes it harder to identify to source of the original scans/pics 2.) Adds a sense of legitimacy for the buyer as it shows a current newspaper with date to make it appear as he owns the items - has them in hand. Nice try, but Andrew already beat him to it by about 10 months with the Nun's Wagner. |

If this was a legit offer, everyone on this board would want one at that price. The old saying "if it's too good to be true it probably is" applies here.
