Catchers Masks... let's see 'em!

This Vintage Catcher's/Umpire Mask just sold for a rather astonishing $1,324 on ebay...

I have one similar, with Throat Guard and swinging Ear Flaps.... situated at the bottom of the attached photo.

Any ideas why the ebay example went so high? I know the style is rare, but this seems like an unusually strong price. It apeared to be a Horace Partridge, FWIW.

Let's see more posts of cool/unusual/vintage Catchers Masks stashed away in those collections!
