Default Thaddeus Wilkerson Postcards

A Net54 member recently reached out to me about Thaddeus Wilkerson and his postcards, I started to respond and thought this might be an interesting topic for the board.

Wilkerson was a New York City photographer specializing in views and scenes of New York City street life circa 1909 - 1920. He published over 400 real photo postcards and some as black & white printed postcard. He appears to have also sold images to other postcard publishers as some of his photos also appear in other prelinen postcard views of the day. His published postcards have the initials TW in the lower right hand corner.

Because of the small number of cards in circulation I suspect Wilkerson may have published and sold the cards himself instead of supplying souvenir stores/stands with quantities of cards.

His Real Photo Postcard views of Hilltop Park and the Polo Grounds are the most sought after of his postcards. They're tough to find due to rarity and because baseball postcard collectors, New York City collectors and Wilkerson collectors are always competing for any of these cards that come to market.

In addition to the cards below, he also published a view titled "Three Miles of Broadway, south from American League Park" which shows the entrance to Hilltop Park at the lower left hand side of the postcard.

If any New54 member has this card I'd like to see an image.

Thanks. Jim
