My father just bought these from a friend of his who got them from a estate sale with some other cards. Was wondering if you guys could help out.
First are they real? I'm guessing they're but wanted better opinions, second should he get them graded. And third, what would their value be you think. Thanks for any help |

They look real to me. Yes you should get them graded. The Johnson is worth about 900 the other 300 or there abouts because of the bad back.

Yeap, they look good to me too. I think Dave's estimates are a tad high, due to condition, but close.....

They are real, but not spectacular... I agree with Leon.

They're real. I'd put the Mathewson closer to 200-225 due to paper loss on back and the front stain. Hard to tell with the Johnson, due to the glare from the photo, but it looks like it has some issues in the top half of the card (I had to tilt my computer screen in order to see it better, and still can't quite tell). Maybe you could turn your flash off and re-photograph it.

They look real to me, but yes, get them graded if he wishes to sell them.
I would guess around $500 to $600 for Johnson, $300 for Mathewson. |

Yes, they're real. Selling them as-is, I'd say the Johnson would go for around $400 - $550 and the Mathewson around $200. It appears the Mathewson has some paper stuck to it, perhaps paper from an album. If you soaked the card (there are a lot of threads on how to soak them), you could probably remove the paper, which would increase the final sales price. Grading could also increase value and some people might feel less worried about the cards' authenticity, grade, whether they're trimmed, etc. (not saying TPG's always get it right). Nice cards!

I agree they are authentic. I disagree about the value of the Johnson, the back has paper loss I,m guessing psa 2 if graded so value more like 350 to 400.

Heard back from PSA on grade. The Johnson got a 1.5 and the Mathewson got a 1
