Well, I'd like to think I am, even though I'm not actively pursuing the entire set just yet, I am working on a McGraw back run, so I would guess that qualifies?? So, with my McGraw back run and a couple of commons sitting here on my desk, I guess I'm up to a whopping 7 unless we are counting Red Cross backs, too. LOL

Jimi...I have included your total because currently you are unaware that you are working towards the Super Set not knowing that when you complete that first run, you then will work on yet another run and that's when the Super Set bug bites you!

Any other guys to add numbers?

Wish I could help you Craig, but I don't know an exact count and I'm really not working towards a super set, I just have the set(521) plus around 120 or so doubles, not sure if the backs are all different. So technically I'd probably be around 620ish...I'd like to see more responses though from the actual super set collectors

Well ok, I sort of collect like that, I'll keep different backs if I get them, and don't avoid duplicating a player of the card is a good deal. But it's not a priority yet. I I didn't put the few multiples in the other thread, so I may as well put the total here.

205

Thanks for the love bros!

I have included your numbers because like I said, guys may be unaware that they are working on the Super Set. With the back craze in its infancy, more guys will hopefully look at the backs closer and add up their totals.

I know a guy approaching the 3000 mark but I haven't added his numbers because I have not received his approval.

Any more out there?

Craig

Don't forget to throw the -ish at the end of my number. I know I kept some because they had different backs, but I would say about 20 or so have the same back.

Good luck with the crowd precipitation

Default I'll play

I'm not really going for it, but you can put me at 455... the combination of my SGC 40 set (no EPDG) and my EPDG set...

Craig, not so sure you're gonna get the big boys responding in your thread. they like to remain under the radar, i know i would. they are the ones bidding against each other for the likes of Seymour PSA 1 Drums going for $24K+, so they want to stay on the DL, and not show their hand. single player back runs and master sets, that's why rare back are in the stratosphere these days.

Well I agree with you but what fun is that?

Lets say one of those guys has a Super Set count of 4100; why not show your hand so everybody else can drool and admire.

It's like the guy keeping his cards in a bank vault. Why even collect them if you aren't able to look at them and thumb through them in the comfort of your own home.

Why, why, why

It's like the mafia...those who brag and say they're in it...really aren't.

Those who actually are...don't talk about it

The master set builders aren't trying to show off, they're collecting for themselves.

I understand.

...you really made me think tonight and thats why i like this forum. Now I know almost for certain that uncut T206 sheets do exist and we just aren't talking one. They are not for the world to see and appreciate. They are only for that one collector.

Not something I could ever pursue, but currently at 557. Probably was about 700 before I started selling off dupes a year ago.

IMO, it's like the Trekkers... who buy Shatner and Spock action figures in the original boxes and put those in a safety deposit box.

OK, a couple of years ago I peaked at 2175 different T206 front / back combos. I achieved that number by putting together the following T206 sub-sets............

All-PIEDMONT set (519 cards) ......missing Doyle, Plank & Wagner (I have Demmitt & O'Hara St Louis variations; but, they are POLAR BEAR's)

All-SOVEREIGN set (402 cards complete)

All-SWEET CAP, factory #30 set (467 cards)....missing Plank & Wagner

Various other T-brands (AB, BL, CB, CY, DRUM, EPDG, HINDU, LENOX, OM, PB, TO, UZIT......
and yes, 1910 COUPON) totalling 387 cards

And, approx. another 400 different PIEDMONT, SOVEREIGN, SWEET CAP
factory's #25, #30, #42, and #42 & #649 overprints.

About a year ago, I broke up the SWEET CAP, Factory #30 set and (to date) have sold about 1/3 rd of it. Also, I've sold some of my tougher front / back combos.

So, if you account for those cards sold, my tally is now approx. 2000 different front / back combos.

Incidently, I did not start this project to put together a T206 "master set"
