I was just going to put this in the new pick up thread but figured it deserved it's own thread as I have never seen or heard of it before.
Not very many of the baseball player postcards also featured advertising. The item dates to between 1920 and 1922 as those were the years that the Cole Motor Car Company produced the "Cole Aero Eight" model. Bentley had been a promising young pitcher who could hit in 1913-1916 then he became one of the players on the dominant 1920's Baltimore Orioles (along with Lefty Grove) and obviously it was during his time with the Orioles that he also began selling cars for the Neely, Ensor and Fox Auto Company. Although the condition leaves a bit to be desired I really like this postcard with the vintage Automotive tie-in advertising. Anyways, I thought it was cool, how awesome would it be if a Lefty Grove came out of the woodwork with similar advertising? ![]() ![]()

That is a cool postcard. It looks like maybe Bentley had these printed up to use for business/advertising correspondence.

I'm not a postcard guy, but that is a nice piece. I'm from Motown originally. Do you know offhand where those cars were manufactured? Dave.

Wow! I lived right around the corner from there when I went to art school back in the '80's! Really great to see something from the 1920's Orioles, that's one of my favorite teams to research - Joe Boley, Lefty Grove, Geoorge earnshaw and of course Jack Bentley, the second coming of Babe Ruth... great and sadly forgotten team.
