1933 Worch cigar cards are tough. I think I have seen, at most, one other Mack. I paid quite a bit for this and was told Larry Frisch (RIP) was the underbidder, though I can't confirm it.

As for a truly mainstream set, this one is very tough in high grade. I haven't found a better one in over 8 years building my 1933 Goudey set.

E90-1 his only card, as far as I know. I've read it as being described as 'semi-tough', 'tough' and 'rare'. I've seen them as beaters (my own), and in high grade. Not really the toughest card to find in a popular set, if you want/need it, but are there really that many mid-grades out there?

The 1930 Fleer Whiz Bangs includes 3 baseball players (Goslin, Grove & Hartnett) in various shades of colors. There are only 83 cards in the original "find" of which 15 were baseball players. There are only 4 complete sets of the baseball players and 1 possible set of each 16 subjects. There are 13 other non-baseball players.
The cards are very rare and difficult to find in any of the color variations. Last edited by Zach Wheat; 04-25-2013 at 04:58 PM. |

Nice Donlin's everyone!
I'd say more than 20% of the T207 set, when you get down to it. They're out there, but it always seems like when you need one. Mine were Donnelly and Birmingham. Now the Donnelly seems to show up regularly... ![]() To your original point, though, Pete, in T207 there are a number of the Recruit-class cards that are much tougher than their counterparts. T207 set collectors either know about them, find out out about them pretty quickly, or are really lucky... -- Mike |

Ray Morgan is more difficult to find than some other Recruit backs. All of the 1916 Zeenuts are hard to find from what I've seen. |
