I have shown these occasionally on the boards here but it is time to clean out stuff and reduce my collection down to a reasonable level.
I have five different sheets of pre war Chicago Cubs team letterhead. As a background, I worked for the Cubs in the 80's and during one afternoon I noticed they had cleaned out an old storage area and much of it went in the dumpster. While most of the garbage was just that, garbage, I noticed this letter head and I fished them out.
These sheets were from the files of the Cubs former traveling secretary Bob Lewis and they contain type written notations on them in regards to spring training expenses. One even mentions a 15 dollar expense for a "W. Brown" not accepting 15 dollars for a fall hat. A few of these have the typing on the back of the letter head but most have some notations on the front. These are standard size bonded paper and they have been stored flat, in a magazine type bag and board. There are 5 different styles of letter head with notations on the officers of the team such as Wm Veeck Sr, Bill Wrigley and even Joe McCarty, the manager.
These have been stored flat and only have the usual creases from folding that a letter would have. There are no rips or tears and these would display very nice either alone or with other team memorabilia from the time period.
I am looking to sell these as a lot and would like to move all of them for $70.00 OBO. From the information I have received previously, it was my understanding that most team stationary from this era will go in the neighborhood of $25 dollars each or slightly more depending on condition. If interested please let me know so we can discuss this further.
