I found an old Baseball Player Lamp. It is 25" tall and the player is 12" tall (batting pose) his uniform is gray with baby blue bill on cap. Black shoes, green base with brown trim. It has a circle with a c in the center and FW 47 on back of base. Would like to have some kind of idea what it is worth before trying to buy. Thanks D.

I've seen the figure before and I think it was used as a generic retail store decoration...most likely used in a sporting goods store...basically considered an advertising piece except there's no advertising.
Now the one you have there is a whole new ball game...I've never seen it as a lamp...I would think perhaps someone may have made it into a lamp...Perhaps the way the wiring looks might provide something...if it looks very professional maybe it was originally a lamp...if the wiring job looks a little home spun it's probably something made up...but still very cool as far as I'm concerned....you want to flip it I'm definitely your guy PM me. -Carlton

Here is the back of the lamp. Check out the makings on right side. There is a circle with a c in it and FW 47. I may learn how to use this computer yet

I am not convinced that the "47" refers to the manufacture date. It might, but the overall uniform style looks earlier... especially with the short brim cap.
I was thinking early 1940s, with remote possibility of late '30s. Just my opinion. Of course, if the 47 refers to the date of manufacture, I stand corrected. Either way, it's a very attractive and well-made piece. |

Perezfan I only say this because in other forms of pottery this is often the case. Not much way to prove this without knowing the maker. I researched the initials and nothing fits. That leads me to believe this could have been a very small pottery outfit and if that is true than the numerical date would be more likely.

Yeah- you're probably right. No need to "split hairs" on this one, as it's unique and very neat either way.
We may never know what the 47 signifies, but your theory makes the most sense. But the uni does look more like a 1930s style ![]() |

That's not the same. This one's 25 inchest tall. D's is 12 inches tall. Stance is not even close.

Plus, it's only a statue and not a lamp.

Morphy's has had both in the past year or so and the base has the same markings.
