I think it depends greatly on to which country across the pond you are shipping.
When our daughter was in Italy it was a complete crapshoot if she would get anything we sent her. One package went missing and we never got any info on it. It was never returned either. |

Ship it FedEx International Priority in a FedEx Letter. Relatively inexpensive, and arrives in 2 business days.
