Joe Louis-Max Schmeling cast iron bank
Snapped a quick photo of this at an antique store yesterday - anyone have any info on this cast iron bank?
Was this ever made as an original in the 1930s-40s, or is was it made much later (90s maybe?) to commemorate the fight? I really just want to know if this is a remake of an old original, or is it strictly a "fantasy" piece. The shop worker knew nothing about it. There are no maker markings on it and the ropes are slightly dirty/worn, but overall the piece is very clean and not worn. The opposite side has the same wording as the side you can see. Thanks for any info you might have. Brad
