I obtained this large Cobb hard board cutout about 30 years ago. Has anyone see one before or any other players? It is 35" tall and about 18" wide.
Advertisement or what? Thanks joe

That's large. I would think maybe an advertising sign or maybe a stadium display.

I could see that sign as an ad display in a store back in the early 20Th century. Never seen it before but it's cool looking.

No real info to lead me to this conclusion but for some reason, I think it is most likely a 1970's (or thereabouts) item.

the type of printing and the stock may help determine if its vintage to his playing days or not. black light on the back may help too.
never seen one like it, but Ive seen that image before |

a 1/2 doz framed cutouts I once owned. Mine were cheesecake pics of sexy ladies (for the time). 1 was a football player, 1 was an actor (Can't remember who) sold them off. They were about the same size pics pasted on what was a thin 1/8 inch wood veneer, about the same size 3' tall. Mine were framed also, and stood out in relief from the background.
Is this a period frame? Have you looked at the back. mine had an advertising co. from L.A. printed on it.....address was a postal zone...not a zip. Could be the same manufacturer. Aloha, Dave Pierson |

When I got the piece it wasn't framed. I had it framed. Don't remember if there was writing on the back.
