Wow........these things are going crazy watching them sell on the Scott and Huggins. First time really watching the 107s go for sale. Watching some other items ending tomorrow but blown away by the prices here tonight.

9K(as of 2345) for Bender is wild. Way more than I expected.

Ultra rare and significant is a nice combo in any grade. What's interesting is to look at a price guide for Bender, for example, back in '95--$175-$200 in ungraded VG! That's about 25% appreciation, compounded annually.
Hope some of our guys got them! Happy Collecting! Larry |

Was more surprised that the Rube went higher than the Bender since Bender is actually a lot tougher.
E107 prices seem to be returning to their pre-Freund collection sell off days. |

Any thoughts on the bender for 9k and waddell for 10? HOw much are planks and wagner is low grade, paper missing from the back e107 style?

Plank about the same as the Bender and Waddell more or less, Wagner multiple times higher.

I don't collect E107s, but I have followed them a bit over the years and those prices do not surprise me at all. They had dipped a bit in the past couple of years due to the economy (I am guessing), but it is one of the more important sets with tons of HOF rookies.

They always sell well, lots of bidders all the time. They don't come up for sale very often.

For some reason, Bender seems to be a tougher one in the set. The Waddell was a beautiful example. Someone got a great looking card there.
As to the question of valuation of the Plank, Waddell, Bender, and Wagner, I agree with Jeff that Plank, Waddell, and Bender are all in the same ballpark, and that the Wagner's value is many multiples of them. Great cards from a tough set, that reportedly has never been completed. |

Collector John Freund put together a very large collection of them and then sold them all off individually through REA in 2008. That event along with the declining economy really pushed down e107 prices. It is my belief that we are only now starting to see them get back to pre-2008 REA levels.

That's a great card, by the way, Brian, at least to all who are truly connoiseurs, appreciate real value, and are not gem mint 10 freaks. Congratulations on your trade, recent or otherwise! McGraw had such an enormous impact on baseball through the '20's! I'm going through some tough times right now, but like Steve, would love to eventually add an e107 HOF'er. May all of your collecting objectives be within reach! Larry Last edited by ls7plus; 09-30-2011 at 02:04 AM. |

I accused larry of owning these cards....I love that Mcgraw. Im into collecting cards of the most influencial people in bb and mcgraw has always been on that top-shelf list of those folks...Ill have to be happy w/ my e145 for the time, but a Beautiful e107 McGraw like above "someday" would be nice.
