Anyone recognize this World Champions pencil box?

Hey guys,
I came across this baseball bat shaped pencil box and was curious if any one has seen an example before. My thought was that this was a generic logo, and not specifically any team, as I cannot think who the dog symbol would fit with. Any thoughts would be appreciated,
