FS: vintage Yankees pennant
I've had this pennant since I was a kid and probably damaged the tip hanging it on the wall above the bunkbeds at my parents cabin. I must have had good taste for a little kid because I bought it at a rural flea market for probably less than five bucks.
Page 97 of the Vintage Pennant Price Guide (Egner, 2009) dates this pennant to the 1940s. It is rated as "Very Rare" with a "book value" of $275-$350 in nice shape. A kind member of this site perezfan, aka Mark, helped me identify this as a 1951 pennant issued to commemorate the 1950 season. '51 was the only season Mantle and DiMaggio played together. I'd like to get $250 for this rare item but am open to offers. Let me know if you need more photos. Thanks again to Perezfan!
