Fred Goldsmith signed 5x7 photo! Died in 1939!!
I have a real nice 5x7 photo of Chicago White Stockings pitcher Fred Goldsmith signed near the end of his life in black. Played on some of the champion Chicago teams of the 1880's. Pretty well impossible to find a signed photo of a pre 1890 player. Fred Goldsmith caliemd to have invented the curveball!!!! The only autograph I found was one in Robert Edwards auction where he wrote about demonstrating the curve ball in 1870. That one went for $1500. Im Looking for $475 delivered.
