Hey guys I recently bought a lot of t205's from a board member and included in the lot was this unusual front of Rube Oldring. I am fairly new to t205's is this the usual Oldring front? Is it a printers variation? Is it simply some printing error? Has anyone seen this before? Does it have any increased value? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.oldring--front.jpg

If you're talking about how the name is "framed" with the gold border that's just the design as compared to some of the other American League player's cards. There are several others that are the same in the set as shown below. I've also included my Oldring for comparison.

Yes I was simply talking about how the name was framed. Thanks for the info Kevin. Any way someone can post all the t205 variations and errors or know of a place I can find that listing?

Turner - great list! There are a few more that have been found as well if I recall (e.g. there is a variation with the text on the back of the Miller), do you have the additional list? If you don't want to, that's understood; I just didn't want people thinking the list above was comprehensive.

Hi Matt - I don't have the additional list. As you probably know, the cards mentioned above comprise the current list of variations recognized by PSA and SGC. Hope all is well!

I would add to the list:
Doc White - back text on the word "Doc" is found without quotation marks on Polar Bear backs. John Miller - back text states "John B. Miller" on some cards and "John D. Miller" on others. Both variations appear with multiple backs, and with the same back as well. No idea why these are not fully recognized as variations yet. There are some who disagree that the White card is a variation as it only appears with the Polar Bear back. I feel that it IS a variation for reasons discussed in other threads. I can see no conceivable argument against recognizing the Miller however. |
