Post here any wins you got! Got this beauty for about $300 less than it sold for in a major auction not too long ago! ![]()

John,
That Delahanty is out of this world. On another day I would have fought you for that one. JimB |

Let's not fight and make up Jim. How about every other weekend he stays with you.

I love that Delahanty pose. He appears depressed. Maybe an early signal of what's to transpire.

Congratulations, that Delahanty card is fantastic. Looks like an original Richard Egan card.

I haven't bought a card in so long, and I don't have any money. So what did I do? I made an impulse buy on a card that I have zero idea about its value. Pretty smart, huh? Did I get suckered into buying this one?

Hi Greg
Let me first crawfish a little on my questioning it being a card. I consider the 1923 Baltimore Shirts strip, cut players, to be cards and this (I am 90% sure) is the same type thing. So in that respect, these are cards. I really don't remember our exact conversation about it... ps..I should add that I am sure Bill would take care of any issue if there was one, concerning an auction description that is determined to be misleading or incorrect. My auction company would, as well as any reputable one.

I picked up the '41 Playball Bobby Doerr, i think he is the oldest living Hall of Famer as a ball player.

John-Nice pickup of the Delahanty. It's a beautiful card. Is this the start of an Old Judge collection?

I agree Bob, among the cards I won, I picked this one up for the opening bid also. I guess M116s and particularly the really tough back cards are kind of cool right now. I was also happy to pick up another Series 8 T210 which had eluded me.

Looks like it was offered for $345 in 2009 and $445 in 2010.

Go to the BST section and get basically the same card for 20K less!

The one on the BST is very nice but not as nice as the one John bought. Folks that collect OJ, and any sepia type photo card, always base their preference (in my experiences) on the photo quality. Forget anything written on the plastic.....though I do admit the number will bring higher prices to some, it won't to the most experienced collectors...again, just my opinion. I am not saying that if you only collect high grade cards (watch out, here come the morality police) there is anything wrong with it. As long as you have fun, more power to you. regards

The Goodwin Delahanty, and the one on BST, are not comparable. Forget what the label says, and look at the photo quality.

I agree, not even in the same ball park.

One must wonder why someone would buy an individual, highly visible, card like the Delahanty in REA (an auction that virtually every collector sees) and think that, even though it cost them a 17.5% premium above what the consignor realized, that they could sell the same card into the same market only a month later and realize a substantial profit.
